Chechen blogger demands to extend practice of public apologies to Islam Kadyrov

The Chechen authorities force people to apologize in public for petty violations and complaints to officials, while the former mayor of Grozny, caught when using an electric stunning device against a woman, avoided voicing the public apologies, blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov noted.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 24, the "Grozny" TV Channel released video fragments in which Islam Kadyrov, then the mayor of Grozny, was threatening residents of the capital of Chechnya with reprisals and using an electric stunning device against a woman.

On October 31, Tumso Abdurakhmanov admitted that the man shown by Chingiz Akhmadov was Valid Yakhikhanov.

"I'm not Kadyrov. When I'm wrong, I'm not ashamed to say that I was wrong," said the blogger on his video posted on YouTube.

Meanwhile, Tumso Abdurakhmanov reproached the authorities of Chechnya of the fact that Islam Kadyrov did not apologize on the air of the Chechen TV Channel in accordance with the tradition adopted in the republic.

Tumso Abdurakhmanov personally addressed the following statement to Ramzan Kadyrov. "Is this your kind of justice?.. No one forces your relatives and friends to apologize although they tortured women with a stun gun and insulted them," the blogger noted.

Let us remind you that the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) announced launching a check after the video records with the brutal actions of Islam Kadyrov had been made public. Residents of Chechnya and users of social networks have expressed their concern that the check will not lead to criminal prosecution of the former mayor.
