Head of Dagestani village reports details of conflict near border with Chechnya
At the "Gerzelsky Bridge" checkpoint, a driver of a car did not stop at the request of law enforcers, and they started a chase, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan reported.
The car had Chechen registration numbers, and the Dagestani law enforcers believed that the driver was in the state of alcoholic intoxication, the head of the Dagestani village explained. According to him, one of the passengers of the car jumped from the bridge and died.
On August 17, WhatsApp reported on a fight between residents of Dagestan and Chechnya on the bridge at the "Gerzelsky Bridge" checkpoint, as a result of which a resident of the Chechen village of Khosi-Yurt died when falling from the bridge.
The conflict on the bridge was not of interethnic nature, reported Atabai Abasov, the head of the Dagestani village of Tsiyab-Tsoloda.
The incident occurred amid the Ramzan Kadyrov's statements who said that Imam Shamil was guilty of reprisals against Chechen people for their unwillingness to confront Russia. Ramzan Kadyrov's statements provoked a protest among residents of Dagestan.
At night on August 21, in Krasnodar, there was another conflict between natives of Chechnya and Dagestan. A native of Dagestan was killed in a shootout. Scientists engaged in oriental studies interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" note that in Chechnya and Dagestan, people adhere to different principles of blood feud, but outside the republics, the custom is not always applied.
