Chechen blogger stands up for Kadyrov in his dispute with Tumso Abdurakhmanov
The blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, trying to belittle Ramzan Kadyrov's achievements, has understated the scale of building mosques in Chechnya, Chingiz Akhmadov, an employee of the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Company), wrote in his blog. Residents of Chechnya were distrustful of Kadyrov's words that he had objected to naming the new mosque in Shali after him.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 23, the city of Shali opened the largest mosque in Europe, named "Muslims' Pride", which had earlier been planned to be named after Ramzan Kadyrov, who now has announced that it will be named in honour of Prophet Muhammad. In the opinion of Oientalists, Kadyrov named the mosque after Prophet Muhammad in order to increase his own reputation in the Islamic world and respond to his critics.
The grandiose mosque named after Kadyrov in Shali was erected for the budgetary money, but it is used to promote Ramzan Kadyrov personally, the blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, has noted.
In his turn, Chingiz Akhmadov, a presenter at the "Grozny" TV Company, referred to the plot of the channel of September 12, 2014, which stated that "the money to build the mosque were raised by villagers," while the construction works were performed by volunteers.
"Kadyrov, it seems to me, is cunning. There was no need to hide the true name of the mosque for seven years. He has simply revealed some extraordinary modesty by refusing to give his name to the mosque, at the same time expressing his desire to have a 'small mosque' built after his death by Chechen people in his memory. It's just a well-thought-out self-promotion gesture," Idris, a local resident, is sure.
