Defence treats court's decision on searches at Ingush activists' homes as precedent

The Supreme Court (SC) of Ingushetia cancelled the decision pronounced by the court in Magas, which recognized the legitimacy of the searches conducted at home of Musa Malsagov, as well as at the offices of the Red Cross, the Ingush Committee of National Unity, and "Support of Ingushetia". According to advocate Visit Tzoroev, the above court's decision will become a precedent to declare illegitimate other searches conducted in the region.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that five leaders of the Ingush protests, including Musa Malsagov and Barakh Chemurziev, were recognized as political prisoners by the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial".

"All decisions of the Magas court, which recognized the searches as legitimate, can be cancelled when filing relevant complaints," reported Visit Tsoroev.
