Source reports 19 detainees in Kizlyar

Nineteen people were detained in the venue of the spontaneous protest action in Kizlyar; some of them were drunk and provoked law enforcers, the police report. Participants of the rally did not rule out that actions against the Chechen traffic signposts will continue.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 10, a video appeared on the Internet, in which young people dismantled a road signpost reading "Shelkovskoy District" installed in the outskirt of Kizlyar. The signs will be reinstalled, said Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament. On June 11, townspeople gathered for a rally at one of the signposts indicating Chechnya; from 10 to 15 people were detained.

The action on June 10, in the course of which one of the Chechen road signposts was knocked down, was a spontaneous one, said Said, a local resident.

Near Kizlyar, there are three signposts with the inscription: "Shelkovskoy District". According to Said, no repeated attempts to demolish other signposts were undertaken.

The signposts were installed without any explanations; residents of Kizlyar were not informed about the establishment of the border with Chechnya in the city suburb; and the visit of the Chechen delegation led by Magomed Daudov caused additional discontent, the Instagram user under the nickname young.founder has noted.
