Social networks criticize Nurmagomedov's reaction to beating of Dagestani man

Users of social networks reproached Khabib Nurmagomedov that he much more harshly criticized the actors and singers on tours in Dagestan than the law enforcers from the Moscow Region who were detained after beating a native of Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that 46-year-old Sully Yunusilau, a father of MMA world champion Magomed Yunusilau, died in hospital after being beaten in Orekhovo-Zuevo in the Moscow Region. Three policemen were detained in the case on beating.

Today, on his Instagram page, MMA fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov has responded to reports about the beating of Sully Yunusilau. "I don't want to criticize, offend, or hurt someone, but how could they beat a person to death ... If a person violated something, then we have laws in our country. And nowhere is written that it is allowed to beat a person to death. People who represent the law should be examples for the others," wrote Khabib Nurmagomedov. He expressed the hope that the guilty men "would be punished with the utmost rigour of the law."

As of 4:15 p.m. Moscow time, the Khabib Nurmagomedov's post gained 278,000 likes, and 4100 comments were posted under it. Their authors expressed the indignation regarding the actions of the suspects involved in the beating and the condolences to relatives of the deceased man.

Meanwhile, some social network users reproached Khabib Nurmagomedov for softening his statements in comparison with his criticism of the artists on tours in Dagestan.

"When Khabib criticizes singer Egor Kreed or harmless theatre actors for their creative activities (and there is not even a hint of crime in their activities), he does not limit himself in expressions, but when men beat to death ... a person (a Muslim brother), then he writes: 'I don't want to criticize or offend someone'," wrote user kashap_limited.
