Organizer of rally in Ingushetia tells about authorities' pressure

Every year, authorities of Ingushetia interfere with the actions dedicated to rehabilitation of repressed nations, Ismail Nalgiev, an activist, has stated, adding that officials telephoned the organizers of the rally and tried to press on them through their relatives.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that members of the Ingush Committee of National Unity received a refusal to their application to hold a rally on April 26, dated to the anniversary of the adoption of the law on rehabilitation of repressed nations.

On April 27, 2018, before the conference, dedicated to the 27th anniversary of the adoption of the law on repressed nations, the delegation of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) was detained.

According to Mr Nalgiev, at the rally, they planned to emphasize that the above law is not enforced: according thereto, victims have the right to compensation for the caused damage, including for the lost housing.

In the Prigorodny District of North Ossetia, after the Ossetian-Ingush conflict, a separate education of schoolchildren of different nationalities is practised, he has noted.

At the same time, Ismail Nalgiev is sure that the Ossetian-Ingush conflict can be resolved at the negotiation table.

On April 15, the home of the Ingush human rights defender, Magomed Mutsolgov, was searched. Activists have linked the search with the protest actions in Ingushetia, in which he participated.
