Chechen Muftiate announces novelties for pilgrims

On February 15, Chechnya began receiving documents from those who wish to make a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. This year, it has been decided to increase the number of theologians who will accompany the pilgrims; and each participant of the Hajj will receive religious literature and will be able to bring home five litres of water from the holy source, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of Chechnya has announced.

This year, like in 2018, Chechnya has a quota of 2600 pilgrims. For their convenience, a number of new rules have been adopted, the SAN has reported.

"Now, each group of pilgrims will be accompanied by one theologian while travelling by bus to holy places. Before, one person was assigned to a group on a plane. Plus, each pilgrim will receive religious literature and be able to bring five litres of water from the holy source of Zamzam for free," the spokesman of the Chechen SAM told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today.

Also, according to his story, for the convenience of Chechen pilgrims, it was decided that in Mecca and Medina they will be accommodated in hotels that are located at a small distance from the Islamic shrines, which will also facilitate their Hajj.

On the average, the cost of this year's Hajj for Chechen pilgrims will make about 3500 US dollars.
