Protesters demand from Evkurov to revoke his signature to border agreement

The outcomes of voting at the Ingush Parliament on fixing the Ingush-Chechen border should be cancelled, the organizing committee of the rally in Magas said to the chairman of the National Assembly. Protesters demand from the head of Ingushetia to revoke his signature to the border agreement.

On September 26, Ramzan Kadyrov and Yunus-Bek Evkurov signed the agreement on securing the border between Chechnya and Ingushetia. Residents of Ingushetia took to mass actions in protest against the transfer of lands.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 4, 17 out of 25 MPs voted to ratify the agreement on fixing the border with Chechnya, the Ingush authorities has stated. However, the MPs told the rally themselves that 15 out of 24 parliamentarians voted against the ratification.

The members of the organizing committee of the rally signed a statement addressed to Yakub Kartoev, the Acting Chairman of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Ingushetia. Protesters expressed no confidence in the outcomes of voting at the sitting on October 4.

"The voting was held with a number of gross violations of the law. To obtain the desired outcome, the decision was taken at a closed session by secret ballot, although according to the law and the regulations of the People's Assembly of the Republic of Ingushetia there was no reason for this," the statement says.

The organizing committee has drawn Mr Kartoev's attention to the fact that the decision was made by one vote in three readings at once, calling it "a completely unthinkable and unprecedented violation of both the norms of the law and common sense." The members of the organizing committee of the rally in Magas have demanded from Kartoev to cancel the voting outcomes and convene an extraordinary sitting of the Parliament.

The organizing committee has addressed another statement to Yunus-Bek Evkurov, demanding from him to revoke his signature to the September 26 agreement, and to annul the agreement as such, or to amend it in such a way that it fixes the actually established border.
