Murtazali Gasanguseinov released from police with apologies

Murtazali Gasanguseinov, the father of the assassinated Gasanguseinov brothers, was taken from the Sovietsky ROVD (Interior Division) to the Makhachkala MIA Department, from where he was released with apologies. The Dagestani MIA explained his detention with a desire to help him in solving his problems.

On August 23, 2016, the 17-year-old Nabi and the 19-year-old Gasangusein Gasanguseinov, residents of the village of Goor-Khindakh, were shot dead in the Shamil District. Law enforcers then declared the murdered brothers to be militants, saying that the young people had opened fire on them from Kalashnikov submachine guns. The Gasanguseinovs' fellow villagers demanded to punish those responsible for their murder, asserting that the guys were shepherds and had nothing to do with militants.

Starting from September 24, the father and mother of Gasanguseinov brothers have been holding pickets in Makhachkala.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported, referring to Djambulat Gasanov, who represents the interests of the father, Murtazali Gasanguseinov, that today, law enforcers accused Murtazali of an attempt to hold a picket and took him to a police station.

Murtazali told that an official of the Sovietsky ROVD took him to the Makhachkala Department UVD), from where he was released.

"Before my eyes, he tore into pieces the protocol that was drawn up against me. Nurmagomed Murtazaliev, the UVD head, promised that no protocol would be drawn up against me. He apologized for the actions of his staff, and promised to personally make sure that they were punished. He also gave me his contacts and asked to call him if I have any problems After that, I left the UVD," Murtazali Gasanguseinov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
