Pashinyan tells about outcomes of meeting with Aliev

No Azerbaijani-Armenian operative communication line on the truce observance in the Karabakh conflict zone has been created; however, an agreement about it has already affected the situation in the conflict zone. This was stated by Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of Armenia. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has noted a decline in the shelling intensity in the conflict zone.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 28, the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia decided to set up a mechanism of operative communication to prevent the truce violations.

After Aliev's meeting with Pashinyan, on September 29, a rally was held in Baku, the participants of which demanded from the Azerbaijani authorities to launch a forceful "liberation of Karabakh." Political analysts from Baku warned about the danger of conflict escalation.

"I can note that in recent days the situation on the contact line has been incomparably calmer," the "News.am" quotes Mr Pashinyan as saying.

According to the Azerbaijani MoD, during the last two days, the shelling intensity has decreased significantly: throughout the week before October 1, from 79 to 98 acts of shelling were fixed per day, while on September 22, there were 112 such attacks from Armenia.

The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group are ready to support the parties' efforts to reduce tensions in the Karabakh conflict zone, the "Trend" News Agency reports.
