Resident of Grozny receives sentence deferment for belonging to Syrian militants

A Chechen woman, who went to Syria to her husband, who had joined militants there, has been sentenced to eight years in prison. She will be sent to a colony, when her child turns 14, the prosecutor's office reports.

According to the court, a few years ago Zalina Khadjieva, at the demand of her husband, who left for Syria in 2013 and joined one of the militant groupings, left for Turkey, and then joined her husband. After that, the woman was in the ranks of armed groupings in Syria and Iraq. Her husband was killed, and the woman with three young children returned to her homeland.
