Guys accused of killing schoolboys in Tbilisi sentenced to long terms in prison

The Tbilisi City Court sentenced the defendants in the case of killing two schoolboys in Tbilisi to 10.5 years and to 9.75 years of imprisonment. At a meeting with the father of one of the casualties, the Georgian President promised to do everything for stability in the country.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in a fight that broke out at one of Tbilisi schools on December 1, 2017, two schoolboys were stabbed to death. Recently, the court has partially acquitted two teenagers accused of committing the crime.

It is not clear yet who killed the second schoolboy, the "Sputnik-Georgia" reports.

On May 31, the above verdict passed by the court provoked a mass protest action. Relatives of the perished boys laid the blame on the Chief Prosecutor of Georgia, Irakli Shotadze; and on the same day he resigned. Protesters also demanded the resignation of the entire Georgia's Government.

Today, President Giorgi Margvelashvili met the father of one of the stabbed boys and talked with him for about an hour. According to the president, he came to the building of the parliament to share the "pain that this person is full of."

"Particular persons should be held accountable; we need to reform the system, as now we have no guarantee that tomorrow they won't kill children," Anna Natsvlishvili, the parliamentary secretary of the Georgian president, said on air of the "Rustavi-2" TV Company.
