Nikol Pashinyan promises no revenge on current Armenian authorities

Delegates from the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) are willing to vote for Nikol Pashinyan as the Prime Minister of Armenia, reports Vagram Bagdasaryan, the leader of the RPA pro-government parliamentary faction. Nikol Pashinyan himself has promised not to persecute officials of the current authorities.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, the Armenian Parliament holds consultations of factions concerning the election of the Prime Minister of Armenia.

Today, Nikol Pashinyan has announced that if elected the Prime Minister, he will not allow revenge against officials of the former authorities. Meanwhile, he has also added he does not intend to include oligarchs in his government.

"I can assure you there will be no oligarchs in the Cabinet of Ministers. And no vendettas will take place. The page of political and economic persecution is closed in Armenia," emphasized Nikol Pashinyan.

Today, Vagram Bagdasaryan, the head of the RPA faction in the Parliament, has told journalists that the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) is ready to become the opposition after the election of the Prime Minister of Armenia.

According to Vagram Bagdasaryan, the RPA's delegates are ready to work constructively for the benefit of Armenia and for that purpose they will support oppositional candidate Nikol Pashinyan with their voices. At a meeting of the RPA, chaired by its leader Serzh Sargsyan, former Prime Minister and former President of the country, it will be decided who from the RPA and how will vote at the election of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Vagram Bagdasaryan reports.
