KBR resident suspected of joining Syrian militants

A 30-year-old resident of the Cherek District illegally moved to Syria, where he joined a terrorist organization, investigators report.

According to them, in April 2013, the suspect flew to Egypt, then moved to Turkey, illegally crossed a border and entered Syria. There, he joined the ranks of an international terrorist organization to participate in an armed conflict against the government, reported the Investigating Department for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in December 2017, a resident of Nalchik was sentenced to 17 years of imprisonment for involvement in combat actions in Syria.
