Law enforcers report name of man detained during special operation in Tbilisi
During an antiterrorist operation held in Tbilisi, law enforcers detained Russian citizen Said Dudaev, reported the Georgian General Prosecutor's Office. The information about the killing of Akhmed Chataev in the special operation is under verification, announced the US Ambassador to Georgia.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 24, the man detained during the antiterrorist operation in Tbilisi was arrested. The law enforcement agencies did not disclose his name.
The special operation in Tbilisi was carried out on November 21-22. In the course of the shootout, a special troop's fighter was killed, and four others were injured. Three suspected militants were killed and another was detained.
On the air of the "Georgian Public Broadcaster", US Ambassador to Georgia Ian Kelly announced that FBI experts joined in the investigation into the special operation.
Meanwhile, Ian Kelly has also noted that "the American side did not participate in the special operation in Tbilisi." The US Ambassador has also added that "there are still questions concerning identification of the persons killed in the special operation."
In his turn, the spokesman for the Georgian General Prosecutor's Office reported that the special operation began after Russian citizen Said Dudaev had been detained with firearms.
Earlier, the Russian citizen detained in Tbilisi on November 21 has confessed to storing firearms, but rejected his contacts with the persons killed in the special operation.
