Father of Krasnodar resident explains his son's involvement in IS* by creditors' pressure

On October 23, it became known that Turkey had given Denis Khisamov, 33, a former Captain of the Russian Ministry of Defence, out to Tajikistan; Denis was detained in April after his return from Syria.

According to law enforcers, the retired officer had fought for the "Islamic State", a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court, and, while returning via Turkey with a forged passport of a Tajik citizen, planned to commit terror acts in Russia.

According to Denis Khisamov's relatives, he was forced to go to Syria because of his economic situation: he was unable to repay the loan taken by him to buy a BMW X5 car. Trying to escape from his creditors, he sold his old SUV and for that money bought a Tajik passport and an air ticket to Istanbul. In 2016, by a court decision, the BMW was confiscated in favour of the bank, one of the editions has reported.

"Despite all his merits and successful career, Denis is still a very young man. I think that his psyche simply could not withstand the creditors' pressure," the edition quotes Frangiz Khisamov, Denis' father, as saying.
