On September 25-October 1, 2017, one person killed in armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week of September 25-October 1, 2017, one person was killed in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The killed person was a law enforcer from Dagestan.

Attacks on law enforcers

On September 30, a body of a policeman with signs of violent death was found in the Kizlyar District of Dagestan. The policeman's car was found burnt down in the Babayurt District. At 4:30 p.m. Moscow time on October 1, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was introduced in the Babayurt and Kizilyurt Districts of Dagestan, with the exception of the Kizilyurt city. Earlier, a policeman had been found dead in the Kizlyar District. According to some information, suspected killers are taking refuge in the Babayurt or Kizilyurt Districts.

Detentions

On September 24, 43-year-old Akhmed Akhmedov, well-known in Dagestan as an expert in Islamic medicine as "Doctor Akhmad," stopped answering his mobile phone. Last time, his relatives saw him in Makhachkala. On September 25, advocate Israfil Gadadov found out that Akhmed Akhmedov was kept at the ROVD (District Interior Division) for the Kirov District of Makhachkala. The advocate was not allowed to visit his client. On September 27, Akhmed Akhmedov was released on recognizance not to leave. He was accused of arms trafficking, reported an official from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan.

On September 25, three residents of Argun, a resident of Grozny, and a native of the Achkhoi-Martan District of Chechnya were suspected of illicitly manufacturing weapons and arms trafficking. According to the law enforcement agencies, the grouping was led by one of the detainees, a 42-year-old resident of Argun. After him, law enforcers detained his alleged accomplices, including two 23- and 30-year-old residents of Argun, a 46-year-old resident of Grozny, and a 47-year-old native of the Achkhoi-Martan District. The suspected leader of the criminal grouping was detained while he was trying to sell weapons and ammunition. During a search in a house belonging to one of the detainees, policemen discovered a workshop for manufacturing and transforming weapons.

On September 26, in Ingushetia, field investigators detained two persons on suspicion of arms and ammunition trafficking. According to the investigators, the suspects were detained while they were trying to sell three pistols, transformed for firing live ammunition. At a house belonging to one of the detainees, the police discovered a workshop with metal cutting machines. A pistol and marijuana were seized from another suspect.
