Two fighters of MMA Student League killed in road accident in Chechnya

As a result of a road accident in Chechnya, two athletes were killed and three others were injured. The tournament of the Student League of MMA in the Chechen Republic was cancelled.

The road accident occurred near the village of Berkat-Yurt on August 19. The athletes left the village of Tolstoi-Yurt, and their car collided with a truck, the RBC reports with reference to Givi Papaskua, the president of the Student League of MMA.

Mansur Denilkhanov and Arsen Karaketov were killed in the road accident. "Two other athletes stay in the hospital. Of them, athlete is in extremely severe condition, while the other man's condition is estimated as of medium severity. In total, there were five persons in the car," the TASS quotes Givi Papaskua as reporting.

The tournament of the Student League of MMA was to be held today on the basis of the "Berkut" Fight Club. It was suggested that 48 league fighters will take part in the tournament.

"The tournament was expected to involve athletes from whole Russia. Three injured athletes came from Moscow. Mansur Denilkhanov, who drove the car, was a native of Chechnya, and Arsen Karaketov was a native of Karachay-Cherkessia," Givi Papaskua reported.
