Saakashvili's advocates to appeal against his deprivation of Ukrainian citizenship

The decision of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to deprive Mikhail Saakashvili of Ukrainian citizenship will be challenged at court, the advocate Pavel Bogomazov has stated. In Kiev, Saakashvili's supporters have clashed with the police.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 26, it became known that Mr Saakashvili had been deprived of Ukrainian citizenship. The reason was his failure to present reliable information for obtaining his Ukrainian passport.

According to Pavel Bogomazov, one of Mikhail Saakashvili's advocates, the defence will appeal against this decision.

As reported by the RBC, in protests outside the building of the presidential administration, about 200 Saakashvili’s supporters clashed with the police fought. Olga Galabala, a member of the "New Forces’ Movement” Party, explained that the protesters were outraged by Saakashvili's deprivation of citizenship, the "112 Ukraine" TV Channel reports.
