Azerbaijani law enforcers report detention of six spies

In Azerbaijan, six local residents were detained on the charge of handing secret information concerning the country's security over to foreign secret services. This was reported by the Azerbaijani State Security Service (SSS).

According to the message of the Azerbaijani SSS Public Relations Centre, got today by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, in the course of the investigative and operational activities, the Azerbaijani SSS intercepted correspondence of members of an espionage network with foreign secret services. Besides, according to the Azerbaijani SSS, it revealed the information of various types prepared for transmission, the data on attempts to involve in the espionage activities officials, public figures, and people from other circles in order to collect secret information about the armed forces and security measures held in the country.

Meanwhile, it is not specified for the secret services of which country the arrested people worked, as well as the type of their activities.
