Sochi schoolboy who complained about being beaten by law enforcers charged with theft

Investigators have charged Georgy Sveshnikov, a pupil of a school in Sochi, with stealing goods from a store. He signed recognizance not to leave. The suspected schoolboy pleads not guilty.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that schoolboy Georgy Sveshnikov claims law enforcers took him from a school lesson and beat him, seeking his confession of stealing goods from a store in the Lazarevskoe District. The schoolboy has demanded from the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) to identify and punish the guilty persons. Georgy Sveshnikov claims that he did not commit any crime.

On June 23, Georgy Sveshnikov was charged with a theft from a store, advocate Boris Tselenko told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to advocate Boris Tselenko, Georgy Sveshnikov was interrogated as a defendant, and in the interrogation report, in his answers to the investigator's questions, the schoolboy noted that he was not guilty, that he did not commit any crime, that he did not give evidence as a suspect, that he did not read a related protocol, but signed it on the advice of an on duty appointed advocate.

The defendant claimed that he wrote a protocol of guilt acknowledgement under the dictation of a law enforcer after the beating, being in an after-fainting state and under the influence of medicines lowering blood pressure, reported the defender.
