In Quarter 3 of 2016, one person fell victim to armed conflict in Stavropol Territory

In July, August and September of 2016, in the Stavropol Territory, one person fell victim to the armed conflict underway in Northern Caucasus. These are the findings of the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The killed man was a civilian – deputy Imam of the Neftekumsk District of the Stavropol Territory Ravil Kaibaliev, who was shot dead by unidentified persons on the Budyonnovsk-Kara-Tube highway.

In July and August there were no victims of the armed conflict in the Stavropol Territory.

According to law enforcement bodies, all the casualties were local residents involved in the activities of illegal armed formations (IAFs).

In Quarter 1 of 2016, there were no victims of the armed conflict. In Quarter 2 of 2016, there were 5 victims of the armed conflict – all of them locals involved, according to law enforcers, in the activities of illegal armed formations (IAFs).

The above statistics cannot reflect with absolute accuracy the real number of victims. Not all the data gets into news reports. It is not always possible to verify the truthfulness of law enforcers' statements; and sometimes new data about the events of the reporting period become known after the publication of statistics by the "Caucasian Knot".

In 2015, the Territory had two victims of the armed conflict still ongoing in Northern Caucasus; both of them perished. In 2014, there were at least 11 victims: 10 were killed, and one was wounded.

In 2013, the Stavropol Territory had at least 17 victims of the armed conflict, of whom 13 were killed, and four others were wounded. In 2012, 12 victims were reported, including 10 killed and two wounded. In 2011, there were 24 victims, including 17 killed and seven wounded. In 2010, there were 89 victims in the Territory: 10 killed and 79 wounded.
