Council of Muftis reports 100,000 praying at Moscow Jami

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today Muslims celebrate the sacrifice holiday of Eid al-Adha (Kurban Bayram). Ten mosques, tents and community centres were allocated in Moscow for festivities; guarded by over 4000 policemen.

There were no incidents at the celebrations, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the Moscow's MIA Department.

The Moscow Cathedral Mosque was opened in 2015. In September 2015, some 90,000 Muslims came there for the Kurban Bayram prayer; and in total, in Moscow and Moscow Region 268,000 Muslims took part in celebrations. In 2014, the figure was 195,000.

The Muslims, who came today to the Cathedral Mosque, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot", were happy with the organization. Policemen behaved carefully, did not interfere with the prayer, and did not detain anyone, said a native of Kabardino-Balkaria named Muslim.
