In Norway, native of Chechnya sentenced for involvement in terrorist organization

In Oslo, Adam Magomadov, a 23-year-old native of Chechnya, has been sentenced to seven years and six months of imprisonment for involvement in the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia by court.

The court has pronounced the decision on the sentence of the Chechen native on August 3.

According to the information presented to the court, Adam Magomadov, a resident of Oslo, and Khasan Akhmed, a 46-year-old Norwegian resident of Pakistani origin, who was sentenced together with him for six years of imprisonment, joined the terrorist organization in August 2014, almost immediately after the creation of a caliphate had been proclaimed in Iraq and Syria.

According to investigators, Adam Magomadov still continued keeping contact with the "Islamic State", banned in Russia and recognized as a terrorist organization, even after he had returned to Norway. He was sentenced for involvement in the terrorist organization and "conspiracy aimed at (commitment of) terrorism," the "Voice of America" reports.

The Norwegian Ministry of Justice intends to extradite the sentenced Chechen native out of the country and give him out to the Russian authorities, the "Kommersant" reports with reference to the Norwegian media.
