Resident of Dagestan killed while attempting to snatch policeman's service weapon

The incident occurred near the village of Chuvek on August 2. According to the preliminary information of the investigators, at about 8:00 p.m. Moscow time, the checkpoint near the village of Chuvek of the Khiv District, policemen stopped a passenger car to check documents.

The driver failed to obey to the demands of the policemen. He provoked a conflict and called about 20 people to help him. One of the offenders tried to snatch a service weapon from one of the policemen. As a result, a random shot occurred, and a local resident was shot dead. This is reported today by the message posted on the website of the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The investigating authorities are engaged in preliminary investigation, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) is instructed to carry out an official check for the legitimacy of the policeman's action, the ICRF's message reports.
