Secretary of "United Abkhazia" Party abducted

The whereabouts of Irina Dochiya, the Secretary of the Political Council of the "United Abkhazia" Party, who was abducted in Sukhumi, remains unknown for the fourth day already.

Irina Dochiya, born in 1980, was abducted late in the evening on July 2 from the yard of her house, Ruslan Tyrkba, the Public Prosecutor of Sukhumi, said on July 4.

According to Mr Tyrkba, the incident is considered as "a kidnapping by a group of persons on a prior conspiracy" (point "a", Part 2, Article 119 of the Criminal Code of Abkhazia), the TASS reports.

As of today, Ms Dochiya is not found. The case of her abduction is under the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office, but the Abkhaz Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) is also conducting the necessary operative activities, the "Sputnik Abkhazia" reports.

After the incident, the "United Abkhazia" Party spread the appeal to President Raul Khajimba. Irina Dochiya's fellow party members have urged to "take all necessary measures of influencing the law-enforcement bodies with the aim to immediately stop the massive violations of human rights, expressed in violent kidnappings," the "Eadaily.com" reports.
