Investigators do not rule out militants' involvement in attack on Shamkhalaev

Blood feud and conflict over the murder in 2013 of "Gorets" (Highlander) Club Director are considered among the versions of the attack on the athlete Shakhbulat Shamkhalaev, wounded on June 1 in Makhachkala.

Boris Burziev, Vice-President of the Union of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), expressed doubts that the fighter will be able to continue his sporting career.

A source from among investigators, who is quoted by the "Komsomolskaya Pravda in Northern Caucasus", did not rule out that extremists could have attacked the fighter.

Also, according to his version, investigators consider a possible conflict on the grounds of the murder in 2013 of Musail Alautdinov, a Dagestan athlete and Director of the "Highlander" Club, where Shamkhalaev is also a member.

He also said that, under still another version, the attackers were the militants, who tried to kill some prosecutor, who was also in the "Port-Petrovsk" restaurant at that time, but made a mistake and opened fire at Shamkhalaev.

Another source, whose words are quoted by REN-TV, reported that, supposedly, Shamkhalaev had a conflict with a son of Magomed Suleimanov, a former Acting Mayor of Makhachkala and now the head of the Territorial Fund of Mandatory Medical Insurance (TFMMI) of Dagestan. Suleimanov has refuted this information, the "Chernovik" (Draft) writes.

Earlier, Shakhmurad Shamkhalaev, an athlete's brother, said that it was a domestic conflict.
