Krasnodar human rights activist arrested
The leader of the Public Court human rights group, Valery Krasnobrizhev, was arrested in the prosecutor's office of Krasnodar's Central District on June 5. He is reportedly accused of making threats against judges. By Yevgeny Novozhilov's information, Valery Krasnobrizhev issued a statement on June 1 in which the unregistered organization headed by him expressed censure on several Krasnodar federal judges for partiality in the consideration of a number of cases. This became a reason for the arrest.
Earlier, Valery Krasnobrizhev had unsuccessfully tried to bring one of the judges of the Pervomayksy District Court to trial.
