Kurman-Ali Baichorov is at large

The Collegium for Criminal Cases of the Stavropol Territorial Court decided to quash the verdict to Kislovodsk Imam Kurman-Ali Baichorov. The Imam has been released under recognizance not to leave, said his advocate.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 12, 2015, Kurman-Ali Baichorov was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison and a fine of 50,000 roubles on charges of drug dealing. He refused to plead guilty and asserted that the drugs had been planted on him. Since January 15, 2016, the court in Stavropol has been considering the appeal against Baichorov's verdict.

Kurman-Ali Baichorov was released in the courtroom; his verdict is cancelled, said his advocate Alaudi Musaev. "Baichorov was released under recognizance not to leave; his case was sent for retrial to the Predgorny District Court by a different court composition," Musaev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
