Oleg Sentsov transferred from Rostov SIZO to Yakutia instead of Irkutsk

Oleg Sentsov, a Ukrainian film director, sentenced in Rostov-on-Don to 20 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony on the charge of terrorism, has been transported to Yakutia. This was reported by advocate Mark Feighin. His information was confirmed by Natalia Kaplan, a sister of Oleg Sentsov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 25, 2015, in Rostov-on-Don, the North-Caucasian District Military Court found Sentsov and Kolchenko guilty of terrorism. Kolchenko was sentenced to 10 years and Sentsov to 20 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony. Both sentenced men pleaded not guilty. The verdict was challenged; however, the Supreme Court of Russia left it unchanged. On February 7, it was reported that Sentsov was transported to the Irkutsk Region, and Kolchenko to the Chelyabinsk Region.

Let us remind you that Sentsov and Kolchenko were accused of creating a Crimean unit of the "Right-Wing Sector", banned in Russia. They were also accused of committing terror acts, since investigators treated as terror acts the arsons of the offices of the public organization "Russian Community of Crimea" and the representative office of the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party in Simferopol.
