Grozny lecturer Khizir Ezhiev found dead

On January 1, the body of Khizir Ezhiev, a lecturer of the Grozny State Technical University, whose kidnapping had been earlier reported by residents of Chechnya, was found in a forested area on the outskirts of the village of Roshni-Chu of the Urus-Martan District of Chechnya.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Khizir Ezhiev, Professor of Economics, was kidnapped on December 19, 2015. The information about his kidnapping was disseminated through social networks and mobile applications by residents of Chechnya, including his students.

"Today, in the morgue, people have identified the body of kidnapped lecturer Khizir Ezhiev. His body was found in a forested area near the village of Roshni-Chu," wrote on January 2 on her Facebook page Aset Malsagova, the chief of the administration of the Public Oversight Commission (POC) of the Chechen Republic.

On her Facebook page, Kheda Saratova, the head of the Chechen news agency "Objective", has posted a photo of the official report, according to which, Khizir Ezhiev presumably died "as a result of falling off a cliff."

Kheda Saratova has also noted that according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the police got the information about the discovery of the body on December 31, 2015. At present, the preliminary investigation is underway.
