Application of Adjarian scenario in Abkhazia 'is impossible'
"The application of the Adjarian scenario in Abkhazia is impossible, and one shouldn't aim at it because it can provoke the escalation of tension and a new conflict," Gennady Gudkov, deputy chairman of the Russian parliamentary commission on security and a leader of the Russian People's Party, has said to the Caucasian Knot correspondent in Sukhum. In his words, "historical, political and economic circumstances in Abkhazia are completely different." "The Georgian leadership should show restraint," Mr Gudkov believes "since thoughtless actions can lead to unexpected consequences, including those for Georgia itself."
