In Moscow, exhibition presents unique exhibits of Adyg military culture

In Moscow, the Russian Central Armed Forces Museum has opened an exhibition dedicated to the history of the formation of the military culture of the Adyg people starting from Antiquity and to the end of the 19th century. According to scientists, modern Adyg people are trying to revive professions of their ancestors.

Exhibition "Adygs: Knights, Horsemen, Warriors..." was formed last year from the funds of the National Museum of the Republic of Adygea (NMRA) and the National Museum of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. Then, the exhibition was shown in Maikop, and in the period from May to September 2015, it was presented in Nalchik.

The ethnic community of "Adygs" includes Circassians, Adygeis, Kabardians, and Shapsugs. In the territory of Russia, their representatives mostly live in Adygea, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, and the Krasnodar Territory.

The exhibits can be viewed from October 14 to December 12. All of them are unique and tell the visitors about the long history of the formation of the military culture of the Adyg people from Antiquity to the end of the 19th century, which became a part of the Russian culture. This was stated by Fatima Djigunova, Director of the National Museum of the Republic of Adygea (NMRA).

According to Barasbi Bgazhnokov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Senior Researcher of the Kabardino-Balkarian Institute of Humanitarian Studies, historically, Northern Caucasus had the developed equestrian culture.
