Two persons killed in CTO in Nalchik

In Nalchik, in the course of the counterterrorist operation (CTO), power agents killed two suspected militants: a man and a woman. The man has been already identified.

At 11:00 p.m. Moscow time of April 15, the CTO regime was introduced in the territory bounded by Tlostanov Street, Lenin Avenue, Karashaev Street, and Kirov Street in Nalchik. Today, at 7:30 a.m. Moscow time, the CTO regime was cancelled.

According to a source in the power bodies of Kabardino-Balkaria, two suspected militants rendered armed resistance and were killed during the special operation.

One of the killed militants has been preliminary identified as Zalim Shebzukhov, a local resident. According to the law enforcers, he used to be one of the militant leaders in Kabardino-Balkaria. Zalim Shebzukhov was wanted by the police since March 2014.

The National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) has already confirmed the information on the identification of the killed man. According to the NAC, Zalim Shebzukhov was a member of a terrorist organization "Imarat Kavkaz" and engaged in active recruitment of militants to be transported to the armed conflict zone in Syria, the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to the NAC.
