Leaders of "Heritage" Party announce collapse of the opposition trio in Armenia

The opposition political trio no longer exists in Armenia, Raffi Ovannisyan, the head of the "Heritage" Party, has stated today at a rally in Yerevan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that an oppositional rally was scheduled for today in Freedom Square in Yerevan. However, after the meeting on February 17 of Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the "Prosperous Armenia" Party (PAP) with the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, the PAP refused to take part in the rally.

"Last Sunday my happiness was immeasurable, as the political trio had finally reached agreement; but then happened what happened," Raffi Ovannisyan said addressing the rally.

According to his story, for the first time after a long period in Armenia, its first president, a member of the Armenian Diaspora and one of the richest people of the country managed to unite in their desire to hold free and fair elections in Armenia. "I regret to state that we've failed to achieve our goals," said Ovannisyan.
