Georgia's NATO representative resigns

Levan Dolidze, the Georgia's representative at the NATO, resigns in the context of the events around surrounding the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 4 the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili dismissed the Defence Minister, Irakli Alasaniya, accusing him of trying to politicize the inquiry into corruption in the MoD and admitted violations in the sphere of procurement. Irakli Alasaniya himself has stated a political crisis in Georgia. On Wednesday, his party "Free Democrats" left the ruling coalition "Georgian Dream".

Levan Dolidze is a brother of Victor Dolidze, one of the leaders of "Free Democrats".

Let us remind you that on October 28, five top officials of Georgian MoD were detained on charges of embezzling budgetary funds. On October 30, the court ruled to arrest them. The former head of the MoD is sure that they are completely innocent.
