In Chechnya, three policemen killed in suicide bombing

Today, as a result of a suicide bombing committed in front of the building of the Sunzha ROVD (District Interior Division) of Chechnya, three policemen were killed and four others were wounded. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Chechnya.

The explosion occurred at 1:50 a.m. in the village of Sernovodsk. According to the MIA, a car that approached the ROVD was stuffed with explosives. One of the policemen noticed the car and managed to block the car's way by a barrage pin before the car could enter the territory of the ROVD.

The car driven by the suicide bomber was earlier hijacked on September 15 in Ingushetia, said the Chechen MIA.

"We believe that the criminal grouping led by Beslan Makhauri may have to do with the suicide bombing; the grouping operates in the area of the Chechen-Ingush administrative border," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a source from the Chechen MIA.
