Court in Rostov Region arrests three suspects of attacking policemen

The City Court of Novocherkassk has ruled to put Inessa Tarverdieva, a suspected member of a gang that committed attacks on policemen in the region; also today, law enforcers of chosen measure of restraint in the form of detention for. Also today, Sergey Sinelnik, an inspector of the DPS (road-and-post service) under the GIBDD (traffic police) of the Russian MIA for the Aksai District, and his wife Anastasia were arrested, as, according to the investigation, they were accomplices to the members of the above gang.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the suspect Tarverdieva, was detained on September 8 in the city of Aksai, Rostov Region, after a shootout with the police, as a result of which the Police Sergeant Ivan Shakhovoy and one alleged member of the gang were shot dead.

As announced by Vladimir Markin, the spokesman Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), apart from Inessa Tarverdieva, 46, her daughter Victoria, 25, was detained, who is now in a medical facility with injuries received during the detention.

The ICRF has added that the detainees are suspected of more than 18 murders; and they have already confessed of some of them. According to investigators, for about 10 years the detainees have acted jointly with the gang members in the territory of the Southern and North-Caucasian Federal Districts (SFD and NCFD).

Another report of the Rostov Police stressed that the suspects killed policemen from personal animosity and in order to seize their firearms; other murders and robberies were committed by them for profit.
