At Geneva Debates, South Ossetia raises issue of liberating its citizens from jails in Georgia

In the course of the 22nd round of Geneva Debates of security in Transcaucasia, held on December 11-12, the South-Ossetian delegation raised the issue of liberation of its citizens from the jails of Georgia.

In the course of the first part of the debates, the South-Ossetian party raised the issue of its citizens, who had been convicted or disappeared in the territory of Georgia, as Murat Djioev, the head of the delegation and the plenipotentiary envoy of the president of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"In particular, the South-Ossetian party insists on liberation of Marik Dudaev, Georgy Zasseev, Georgy Valiev and Soslan Kochiev. These are our citizens; charges against them were falsified; and now they are illegally serving their terms in jails of Georgia," said Djioev.

"The missing citizens of South Ossetia are Pliev, Khugaev and Khachirov; two of them were minors at the moment of disappearance," Djioev has noted.

As reported by the IA "News-Georgia", Paata Zakareishvili, State Minister of Georgia for Reintegration, said well before the debates that he was waiting for a breakthrough at the next round of Geneva Debates.
