Maksharip Aushev reports his failed kidnapping in Ingushetia

Maksharip Aushev, a former leader of the opposition, has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about an unsuccessful attempt to kidnap him in Ingushetia.

The failed kidnapping took place yesterday, on September 15, at about 6:30 p.m. at the entrance to Nazran from direction of Magas, where Maksharip Aushev went to meet the new head of the division of the republic's FSB for combating terrorism and extremism.

Unidentified armed persons who used an armoured vehicle painted atypically for this locality, tried to kidnap Maksharip by blocking the road. However, the actions of Aushev himself and support of surrounding people and militiamen from the adjacent road sentry post helped to prevent the kidnapping.

President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov has personally promised to clear out the incident and held a sitting of heads of power agencies.
