Belarus is ready to recognize South Ossetia and Abkhazia, should they ask for

The newly elected Parliament of Belarus can consider the request to recognize Abkhazia and South Ossetia should they send official references to this end, said Vasily Khrol, Deputy State Secretary and a member of standing committee of the Union State, today in the press conference.

"We've never faced such a problem in parliamentary practice - to recognize or not to recognize a state, however, should official applications arrive, the newly elected Belarusian Parliament will consider them and will act in the interests of the Union State of Russia and Belarus," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Mr Khrol.
