In Ingushetia, houses of oppositionists Maksharip Aushev and Magomed Khazbiev searched

Today, Ingushetia's law enforcers have conducted searches in houses of Maksharip Aushev and Magomed Khazbiev, Ingush oppositionists. However, according to Mr Khazbiev, nothing was confiscated in the course of these searches.

We remind you that a criminal case was initiated against these two most active oppositionists, closest associates of the murdered Magomed Evloev, owner of the independent Internet portal "Ingushetia.Ru"; under the case they are suspected of exerting violence to employees of law enforcement bodies, and of attempt to take away their firearms.

The searches were held under the court ruling passed on applications of the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Ingushetia who had accompanied Magomed Evloev on the day of his murder, the "Interfax" reports.

Mr Khazbiev said in his interview to "Echo Moskvy" Radio that, most likely, during the search they looked for weapons. According to the leader of the nationwide rally of the Ingush people, during the search the district where he lives "was completely blocked by armoured troop carriers and dog specialists."

"They have long received an order to neutralize Maksharip Aushev and me. We know that Evloev was 'ordered' by Zyazikov himself. But now, in the context of the scandal caused by his death, the local authorities decided to go another way: to arrest us, and later in the cell we'll either 'occasionally' get choked with a cutlet or hang ourselves up," said Khazbiev.
