Ingushetia: meeting of opposition appointed on March 4

The initiative group created after arrest of Maksharip Aushev has appointed a rally on March 4 at the Memorial to Victims of Repressions in Nazran.

The organizing committee of the opposition wants to raise the population of Ingushetia to non-sanctioned rallies and actions of civil disobedience with a demand to release Aushev and seven other arrested persons under the criminal case on the events on January 26, 2008.

Radio "Echo Moskvy" reports that the initiators of the action are confident that the authorities had themselves organized disorders at the rally on January 26 to have grounds to arrest Maksharip Aushev and his friends.

Let us note here that according to the Republic's Law on Meetings, a notification about an action shall be handed over to the Government of Ingushetia. Meanwhile, the respective Federal Law runs that it shall be sent to local self-government bodies. Therefore, notifications were sent to three addressees - the Government, Administration of Nazran and Administration of the Nasyr-Kort Municipal District of the capital of Ingushetia.

Head of the organizing committee Magomed Khazbiev made visits to all the three bodies, but everywhere they refused to accept the notification against a receipt. He insists that the authorities continue to break the requirements of the federal and Republic's legislation on meetings. Notifications were sent to them by mail, the Ingushetia.Ru informs.
