Opposition restarts protest actions in Georgia

Next week, on the initiative of the United Opposition of Georgia, a campaign will be launched in Georgia under the motto "I didn't elect Saakashvili". Today, the leaders of the opposition have informed journalists about it at the press conference held in front of the building of the Parliament of Georgia.

According to Zviad Dzidziguri, one of the leaders of the opposition, during this action tables will be placed in front of entrance doors of the Tbilisi underground stations, and citizens of Georgia will be able to express their position.

Besides, from February 7 on, an action will start under the name "Vote Thieves", during which portraits will be exposed of those persons who, in the opinion of the opposition, have stolen electors' votes, the Gazeta.Ru reports.

On January 30, President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili said that in the new government the opposition was offered the post of the Minister of Public Health. "But the opposition refused. Then, this post was offered to Sandro Kvitashvili," Mr Saakashvili said and named Kvitashvili to be a real professional, the Civil Georgia reports him as saying.

According to Saakashvili, the opposition was also offered posts of Vice-Premiers in the new Government, as well as the post of the Minister for Environment Preservation and positions in the economic block and law-enforcement structures.

Mikhail Saakashvili has stated that the refusal of the opposition from governmental posts was not a surprise at the background of the approaching parliamentary elections. He has also noted that obviously the refusal of the opposition was a part of their "pre-election tactics."
