Imprisoned ex-minister of economic development starts a hunger strike in Azerbaijan

On February 1, Farkhad Aliev, ex-minister of economic development, who is serving his term in prison, started his 48-hour hunger strike with a demand to ensure his medical examination by his personal doctor or other independent doctors in the presence of advocates. One of his advocates - Elton Guliev - told about it to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his information, if no measures to treat his client are promptly taken, the ex-minister is going to start a termless hunger strike.

He also thinks that they purposely doom him to death by subjecting him to inhuman custody conditions in a small, cold, concrete cell without natural light and depriving him of qualified medical aid.
