WWF is dissatisfied with how the oil spillage in the Kerch Strait is eliminated

Representatives of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) assert that liquidation works of the oil spillage consequences in the Kerch Strait are inefficient.

The WWF's employees who work for the spillage liquidation headquarters have reported that "the teams engaged in cleaning the shore, which were organized, apparently, by local authorities, are simply digging the mazout (black oil fuel) mixed with seaweed, into the sand on the beaches."

"It's twice incorrect," the "Echo Moskvy" Radio quotes the ecologists. "Firstly, petroleum products should be separated from biomass as much as possible, and, secondly, there are no guarantees that the beach won't be washed away by the sea."

Besides, according to the activists of the headquarters, "the authorities fail to keep account of the lost birds, and thus, the scale of the damage could not be estimated." The ecologists mark that local authorities have not only failed to organize the effective work on liquidation of the consequences of the shipwrecks, but they also interfere with the work of WWF experts by "permanently visiting the headquarters with all sort of checks - by militia, immigration service or doctors."

Along with that, as the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reported earlier, the search of sailors from "Nakhichevan" who disappeared in the Kerch Strait will last for at least 10 days more. Nikolai Lityuk, First Deputy Head of the South Regional Centre of the Ministry for Emergencies, has told about it.
