Committee in defence of journalist Fatullaev's rights to hold a support meeting in Azerbaijan

The 157-strong committee in defence of Einullah Fatullaev's rights has adopted a statement condemning the verdict of the Court for Grave Crimes to the journalist.

It has become known to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the authors of the statement assert that Azerbaijan, which has signed a number of international documents and undertaken certain obligations, should release the journalist. Otherwise, the pressure on Azerbaijan will become stronger. The committee concludes that Einullah Fatullaev should be immediately released.

Ms Azu Abdullaeva, head of the committee, has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about their intention to hold a meeting in defence of the journalist. According to the preliminary decision, the action can be held on November 17.

On November 19-21, the Forum of Free Press will take place, where the members of the committee intend to raise Einullah Fatullaev's issue. Besides, the committee plans to file an application to the PACE on the journalist's case.
