Advocate of "Beslan Mothers" quits the terror act case
Teimuraz Chedzhemov, advocate for the Committee of Victims "Beslan Mothers," has announced his resignation from the process on the main criminal case about the Beslan terror act, having explained his decision by the murder threats that he had received, the IA "Interfax" informs.
"I've been representing the interests of 'Beslan Mothers' for the third year already. On August 5 this year I received a threat of murder with a warning: 'You've gone too far, stop!' I link the threat only with my active position in Beslan case, since I was not involved in other cases, never got into disputable situations or engaged in any businesses," the lawyer said to journalists today.
In his opinion, the threat is connected with his raising the issue of the criminal guilt of the members of the operative headquarters.
According to his story, on August 7 he lodged applications about the threat he had received to the Republic's Prosecutor's Office and Department of the Russian State Office of Public Prosecutor in the South Federal District (SFD). The criminal case was initiated on August 22.
