Jurymen acquit two suspects of attempt on President of Chechnya

Today, the jury of the Moscow City Court has acquitted two defendants accused of preparing an attempt on President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, thus finding the third figurant in the case to be guilty.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that natives of Chechnya Umar Batukaev, Ruslan Musaev and Lors Khamiev, who had been initially accused of preparing a terror act near the "Profsoyuznaya" Moscow Metro Station, in the course of investigation became suspects of preparing an attempt on Ramzan Kadyrov. All of them refused to plead guilty.

The jurymen have passed a general guilty verdict to defendants Lors Khamiev, Umar Batukaev and Ruslan Musaev. However, only Khamiev's guilt of preparing an attempt on Ramzan Kadyrov's life was found proved. The two other figurants were found innocent of this episode, but guilty of other episodes of the case. This was reported to the "Interfax" by Anna Usachova, press secretary of the Moscow City Court.

The jurymen have found proved Umar Batukaev's guilt "of using knowingly faked document and illegal purchase and storage of firearms as a member of an organized group." The jury also found defendant Musaev guilty of concealment of an especially grave crime.

Tomorrow, on April 1, the Moscow City Court will hold another session, where the public prosecutor will demand a punishment, while the defence and defendants will take the floor. Then, the date for verdict announcement will be appointed, as the "Lenta.ru" reports.
